ISO 9001:2000
In June of 2003, again upon the initial audit, Merak Nederland BV was granted the ISO 9001:2000 quality certification for all its services.
ISO 9001:2008
In 2008, the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) modified the rules for the 9001 standard, improving the quality of the standard.
After an audit in June 2009 Merak Nederland B.V. was granted the ISO 9001:2008 without any problem.
What is ISO 9001?
It is a quality management system intended for use in any organization which designs, develops, manufactures, installs and/or services any product or provides any form of service. It provides a number of requirements which an organization needs to fulfil if it is to achieve customer satisfaction through consistent products and services which meet customer expectations. It includes a requirement for the continual (i.e. planned) improvements of the Quality Management System.
PCI DSS
In March of 2008, an independent audit confirmed that Merak Nederland BV is compliant with the PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry – Data Safety Standards) as effective on January 1, 2008.
What is PCI DSS?
It was developed by the major credit card companies as a guideline to help organizations that process card payments prevent credit card fraud, cracking and various other security vulnerabilities and threats. A company processing, storing or transmitting payment card data must be PCI DSS compliant or risk losing their ability to process credit card payments and being audited and/ or fined.
ISO/IEC 27001:2005
In March of 2008, Merak Nederland B.V., was awarded the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification as issued in October 2005.
What is the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 standard?
It is an information security management system (ISMS) standard published in October 2005 by the International organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International electro technical Commission (IEC). It covers Information technology, Security techniques, Information security management systems and Requirements, commonly known as "ISO 27001"
